In today’s blog post, we’re combining the Hot Shoe Alert with a Hot Trend Alert, for a Hot Shoe Trend Alert! Alright, that’s that for long, funny titles- let’s talk white boots , a type and color of shoe that is simply popping up everywhere this season. We’ll see why you need to add a pair of white boots to your wardrobe, then we’ll talk about how to style them, and finally, we’ll go shopping for two of my favorites with the help of DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse .
Don’t forget: you can shop these booties above and below. And let me know in the comments which one is YOUR favorite!
White Boots Are In
During Fashion Week, you could see them everywhere. Both on the runway, and on the street. Of course, I’m talking about white boots and booties. Whether you opt for ankle booties or knee-high boots, from kitten heel, to a chunky heel, white boots in general are a great item to add to your wardrobe. They offer a great pop with just about any denim jean, and the beauty of it is that they go with absolutely everything – they’re white after all! Given this versatility, they can be dressed up for the office, or dressed down for errands. Many designers have embraced the trend, and I don’t foresee it going away any time soon, so it might be the perfect time to invest in some!
how to style white boots
As mentioned above, white boots go with just about anything and everything. However, let’s look at some fun ideas:
White boots are great peek-a-boo’s under a maxi or prairie dress, for example (consider maybe a fall floral?). But they also look great – and very chic – when paired with a monochrome or pinstriped suit. In the pictures here, I went for an all-white look with a white skirt and sweater with my Bleecker & Bond booties from DSW.
For another chic-cool look, simply wear over or under a pair of jeans, a tee and add a blazer or leather jacket for warmth in Fall or winter coat for the colder months.
If you’re headed out to brunch, you can add a midi skirt and sweatshirt. Alternatively, you can go for a look like the other one I’m wearing here: A fun pair of denim jeans, with a plaid top.

In the images here, and on repeat as of late, I’m essentially wearing two booties. One of them is a great kitten heel – another big trend for the season. The low heel in this Charles by Charles David bootie from DSW is perfect for work, and errands. Lower-to-the-ground heels have been trending now for a few seasons, and can be seen as an extension of the 80s trend that’s going around.
If you’re not into lower heels, and are craving that height, the other option here is also a great option because while higher in height, its chunky nature makes it comfortable and easy-to-wear to work or when you expect some walking. You won’t be hurting in them at all!
So how will you be styling your new white boots? And do you prefer a kitten heel or a chunkier, higher heel? Let me know in the comments below!
