A Day with Leighton Meester & Sunglass Hut
Paid for by Sunglass Hut & Refinery29
We all have fan-girl or fan-boy moments. I just sort of had one this past week when I had the opportunity to meet and chat with one of my favorites – Leighton Meester during a Sunglass Hut event in Miami Beach during Miami Swim Week. I also had the amazing opportunity to feature a pair of some of my favorites sunglasses – and two that I strongly recommend for the Summer as part of their #ShadesOfYou campaign. So let’s dive right in:
Ray Ban Aviators
Who doesn’t own a pair of aviators? If you don’t, you should give them a try. Ray Ban aviators in particular are the perfect complement to any summer outfit. Perfect for the beach and pool and even better at deflecting the sun so it doesn’t bother you while tanning. You’ve likely seen me sporting several pair of aviators over the years, and this time I opted for a blue lens to try something different. I’ve owned regular Ray Ban black lenses, mirrored, red and green and now have added blue as well.
The outfit for the day was a fun skirt and blouse ensemble that was already colorful in nature. While these lenses are blue, they’re not an electric blue, and feature a darker tint. The colors I felt complemented each other and they provided the touch I needed for the outfit.
Prada Extreme Cat Eye
Most people like to stick with what we know and in our comfort zones. However, sometimes it’s nice to venture out and try something new. You have to try –almost- everything once, right? Enter these gorgeous extreme cat-eye sunglasses from Prada. I hadn’t worn or tried sunglasses like these in the past and wasn’t sure how they’d fit my face, but I sort liked the way they looked. Once I tried them on though, I instantly fell in love.
For the outfit itself, I had chosen this beautiful white dress for Swim Week and the dark lenses of the Prada Cat Eyes were the perfect contrast I was looking for.
What are your thoughts about the lenses that I chose? What’s your go to shade this summer? Any new sunglasses you are sporting? Let me know in the comments below!
