Hot Bag Alert: Coach Tabby Bag Review

Hi all,

It’s been a minute since the last Hot Bag Alert! That’s why I’m excited to bring you a brand new one with a review of the gorgeous Coach Tabby Bag today. So who’s this bag for? Where do we wear it? Let’s tackle everything Coach Tabby Bag in today’s review and Hot Bag Alert.

Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 In Colorblock With Snakeskin Detail

The Tabby Bag is Coach’s newest bag and is a modern take on an archival 1970s Coach design. The model we reviewed was a structured Tabby shoulder bag that was crafted in polished pebble leather with refined leather and genuine snakeskin details and finished with Coach’s signature hardware for an iconic touch. There are other alternatives to consider if you like different snakeskin detailing, or none at all and the price will fluctuate depending on what you prefer.

When it comes to materials used for the review model we have, it was molished pebble leather, refined calf leather, suede and genuine snakeskin. The bag features an inside zip and multi-function pockets for storage and organization. A snap closure ensures nothing falls out. Two straps accompany the bag - a short strap with a 6 3/4’’ drop, or a longer 21 1/4’’ strap for shoulder or crossbody wear.

Exact measurements have it at 10 1/4" (L) x 6" (H) x 3" (W) and in practice, it fit all my essentials, including my big iPhone.

Why you want the Coach Tabby Bag in 2019 and 2020.

Snakeskin is luxe and adds elegance to any look, plus snakeskin is big for Fall and Winter 2019 so you’ll be rocking the animal print in style. Another big trend for the year is the brand insignia, which features here with the famous Couch “C” - updated even.

The bag also comes in Black, olive green, white colorblock, burgundy, all snakeskin, blue colorblock, among other variations.

One of the features we look for the most in bags is versatility, which leads to the different ways you can wear the Coach Tabby Bag:

You could wear the bag with the long shoulder strap to go hands-free, for example. With the shoulder strap on, you can wear the bag crossbody, which is perfect for any travel look . If you’re not a big fan of crossbodies, you can opt to wear the bag on your shoulder as well - fear not! Or here’s another fun option: wear in your arm with the shoulder strap hanging for a cool, effortless, yet chic look - a woman on the go! Lastly, another way you can wear the bag is to remove the shoulder strap entirely and treat it as a clutch. This is particularly good for a night-time dressier occasion.

Ways To Style The Tabby Bag

Pair the snakeskin colorblock variation with neutrals for a chic look, like the way I do here for a fun weekend look. Alternatively, you could pull out all the snakeskin stops and pair with more snakeskin. For example, try a snakeskin midi length skirt, white blouse, and pumps for a glam date night look.

If you’re not feeling the extra snakeskin, you could simply opt for a pair of denim, flats or white sneakers, and a great basic tee or white button down for errands or a casual yet cool look.

The Coach Tabby Bag is a great versatile bag from a renowned fashion house that would be a great addition to your bag collection. Since it can be worn at least 4 different ways, thanks to the detachable strap as outlined above, it can allow you to go from hands-free ( a win for me) during the day, to holding it in hand for a chic sophisticated look, to a clutch for night-time occasions.

The snakeskin colorblock immediately screams luxe and adds even more to what is already a luxe brand. Starting at $350 for the non-snakeskin option, and going up to $450 for this one, and $650 for a full snakeskin option, the Coach Tabby Bag is accessible luxury - sure it’s not chunk change, but unlike other classic fashion houses, whose bags start upwards of $1,000, this one is accessible and can be a great birthday, milestone or holiday gift.
