nyfw day three: plaid on plaid
New York Fashion Week coverage continues with a new look from day three. Plaid is the quintessential print for Fall, so naturally I wanted to include in one of my New York Fashion Week looks and did so for Monse's show.
Plaid on Plaid
What do you think of first when you think of plaid pieces? For me, I think of a suit, or pants and blazer separates. That's why I fell in love with these pieces and opted to wear the plaid on plaid with the skirt and the boots.
The outfit actually started with the boots, and grew from there. The boots are from tibi and are absolutely gorgeous. When styling the boots, I had a few routes to go but was drawn to this skirt from Monse and thought the plaid on plaid would be fun.
Since the temperatures were not very cold or hot, I chose this short sleeve piece from 3.1 Phillip Lim that is more of a neutral to let the plaid pieces do the heavy lifting. Had it been cooler, I likely would have gone for an ivory sweater, for example.
Monse Make Up Recap with Maybelline
Since the look features Monse, I chose to wear it to their show during New York Fashion Week. You can see the highlights from the show on my daily vlog. A big special thanks to Maybelline who invited me to the show alongside the brand. For the Monse Spring/Summer 2019 show, Maybelline New York's global makeup artist Erin Persons created a "fresh-faced" look inspired by the nautical details found in the collection (if you haven't yet, go see the vlog for the highlights).
What did you think of the look? See you in the comments!
