Hot Trend Alert: Neon Colors for Fall 101
Our Fall Trends series continues today with Neon colors. If you haven't checked out our previous trend, I invite you go read now the Western Trend 101, and then go shopping for some dresses and handbags. But today, we're talking neon! And no, we're not headed to a festival or anything like that. While neon colors are not expected during fall and mostly you think instead of orange, brown, reds, navy, and green, this trend was embraced by countless designers from Prada to Moschino to Tom Ford. So how do we get in on the trend and bring it into the real world so we don’t have random bystanders on the street thinking we’re in the wrong season? Let's find out!
Neon Fall Trend
As with western, neon is a trend in which sometimes less is more. So adding one piece at a time may the safest - and best - way to incorporate the trend. The easiest way to do so is to pair a neon color with a neutral that is typically associated with Fall. Here are a quick examples for you to try if you are ready to tackle this trend:
Wear a brown slip dress and a neon purple oversized sweater. Then, add a pair of white or brown boots.
Add the neon via way of handbag. Add that pop on your handbag and wear a monochromatic head to toe look.
Add the pop via your shoes - like I do here. Shop for a pair of pink neon sandals like these and rock it while it's still warm outside with a black polka dot midi dress, or neutrals!
Feeling brave? Try one of these cool color combos that are sure to be popular on the streetstyle scene this coming Fashion Month: Hot pink sweater and red midi skirt with brown accessories. Orange and Tan. Blue and brown. Red and purple.
