A Fun Look Featuring a One-Shoulder Top from MILLY

Hi all,

As I write this, we've begun the transition from Summer to Fall - it's even in the 60s (15-ish Cs) in NYC! So naturally, we are talking about a transitional outfit that's not boring and will take you from, you guessed it: summer to fall in no time! Yes, September officially begins tomorrow!

An Outfit To Transition From Summer to Fall

The weather is that perfect mix not warm enough for shorts but perfect for jeans. It's also not cold enough for chunky knits but still great for all those fun summer tops. So don't put them away just yet!

For this look, I wore this stunning one-shoulder top from MILLY. Asymmetrical and one shoulder tops have taken the spotlight this year as opposed to the huge off the shoulder trend last year. I love them because they still show a bit of skin - particularly the collar bone. I find something so flattering about having that area exposed. The top also has large ruffles giving it a bit of a romantic and dramatic feel to boot.

For the shoes, you can still wear sandals in fall (depending on the weather, right?) but I've been really excited for closed toe shoes so I decided to wear this affordable pair of suede pumps from Nine West. I really love how they've added the grommets to the shoes - a great twist to the classic closed toe pointed pump.

If the weather is a bit cooler outside, grab your favorite denim or leather jacket, or a great blazer and drape over your shoulders and you have yourself an effortless easy look! And where to spot this exact look? How about date night?

You can also style the look slightly differently for other occasions. For example, for work, you can wear with wide-legged pants and a cardigan over the top. Style with heels, preferably ones that are pointed toe.

Heading out to weekend errands followed by brunch? Wear with denim that hit at the ankle and throw on a pair of cute sneakers.

How would you style the top? Let me know in the comments below. As always, thank you for reading!

xoxo,

Christie
