NYFW Day 5 - Feathers for Spring

Hi all,

Excited to bring you the final NYFW look and today we’re talking about one Spring 2020 trends and that is feathers! This was also one of your most favorite looks from NYFW, so let’s dive in!

Feathers

Feathers were seen all over the runways for Spring 2020, including Burberry, Valentino, Attico, Prabal Gurung, and others. And while a good cocktail dress, or little black dress will work most of the time for an evening event, feathers can too! Plus, they are a great conversation starter for the introvert, or a way to make an entrance for the extrovert. For Spring 2020, while of course you can search (and will find) feather-detailing on a dress, you’ll also find voluminous feather tops. Pair them with fitted pants, to balance the look and you’ll be golden!

All-Black Feather Look

So this look was worn on Tuesday of NYFW and one of the shows I was attending was Cynthia Rowley, so naturally, I wanted to wear the brand. Enter this fun top - perfect for an evening out, or a date night. I tried the feather top on with a few different pants and coats (check out the YouTube video for more on that) and settled on this pair. I really liked the slit at the bottom of the trousers - it allowed for the shoes to be seen. And this jacket from Mackage (linked similars below as well)made the look more classic, as opposed to trendy.

For the accessories, I opted for a black bag from AWAKE MODE, which is a great size for almost anything and everything, not not too big where it isn’t wearable at night. And then, I finished off the look with the pop of color via the shoes. These Sophia Webster’s are the cutest shoes and the mix of colors, and heart-shaped design just make it a great pop.

Thank you as always for reading!

Christie
