Reversible Silk Bomber Jacket

Whether you've followed the blog for a while, follow on IG or you just stumbled upon this one thanks to Google or Bing, there's one thing that you should know: I love versatile pieces. And today's post is about this outfit, which features a reversible jacket from Lafayette 148 NY - an extremely versatile piece. So, let's dive right in:
Reversible means versatile
There are many reasons why this jacket is a must-have for your closet. For one, no matter where you live - Miami or NY - you should always have a thin bomber jacket in your closet for those days in the 50s-60s (15Cs). So if we agree that you should have a jacket like this one, then why not a reversible one that allows you to have two silk bomber jackets in one? This one is solid navy on one side and navy with polka dots on the other. This is perfect, because one side allows you to easily pair with any other statement pieces as it makes the jacket a bit more subdued in nature, while the other could be the statement piece.
Silk is an incredibly soft, luxe fabric that elevates the jacket rather quickly. The casual design of the jacket allows you also to style it for multiple occasions, making it a great investment piece. Let's take a look at how to style for work, casual weekend wear, a date night or to an event:
Styling the Bomber Jacket
Its versatility allows it to feel at home in different settings. Headed to work? Pair the jacket with a solid-colored blouse and tuck in a pencil skirt, or pair of skinny or wide-legged trousers. Finish the look off with a great pair of neutral-colored pumps.
The look featured here in images is more for relaxed weekend wear, say brunch, errands, etc. Here I paired the jacket with a tank top and a pair of distressed denim (similar here, here and here) - relatively casual in nature. but I'm using a great pair of shoes to elevate the look a bit.
If you're heading out to a date night, and it's a bit chilly out, you can grab this jacket too. Wear over a form-fitting, neutral-colored dress, like this one. Alternatively, you can pair with your favorite skinny denim and add a fun body suit with a heeled sandal.
Lastly, let's take a look at an event situation: We begin with the jacket, but can add a chic white or black jumpsuit and then choose which side of the jacket you want to showcase the most!
