Hi all,

After a lovely holiday break, I'm back with a new blog post featuring my acquisition from the now-famous H&M Balmain collaboration from a few months ago. I thought the holidays were a perfect backdrop for these green velvet pants, but of course, these can also be worn at other times as well, don't forget!

I had been wanting to wear these pants for a while now, but I was waiting for the right occasion. A brunch during the holiday season? Perfect!

On to the outfit: The pants are statement pants. They are loud and eye-catching. Because of this, it's important to keep the rest of the look minimal. Always do this no matter what the statement piece is - pants, shirts, shoes, jackets. If you wear a loud statement piece, keep the rest minimal to avoid looking like Times Square in NYC.

So here, I selected a white Lacoste shirt from the husband - I have been wearing this quite a bit as of late as I love the fit and how simple it is. He's always asking though "where's my white Lacoste shirt?" Shh.. our secret!
Then, I grabbed a white blazer - stay tuned for more on blazers soon!

For shoes, I chose pointy shoes. Why? When you wear wide-legged trousers, it's a good idea to choose pointy shoes as they help elongate your legs and feet.

Because of the day-time aspect of the outfit, I chose a big bag. Here, I'm wearing my new bag - a vintage Hermes.

What kind of statement pieces do you own? What do you pair them with? Let me know in the comments below!

As always, thank you for reading.

XOXO
