How To Dress Up Sneakers
Today’s post is all about how to dress up sneakers! For those that may know me personally, may be in complete shock that I am even suggesting wearing sneakers unless you’re going to go exercise. However, today I take on this trend that even has Karl Lagerfeld’s stamp of approval. Below you will find some style tips for how to create a minimal, cool, and chic look that is appropriate for brunch, a fun event, or simply running errands and want a more dressed up look. Remember fashion is about having fun so be confident when rocking this look.
-Wear a neutral colored look, think white, gray, or black. Make sure your sneakers are also a neutral color.
-Show off the sneakers, so avoid wearing with a floor length skirt. Instead, pair with a neutral colored mini dress, t-shirt dress, chunky knit and midi skirt, or basic tee and midi skirt.
-Avoid wearing socks or don’t have the socks show.
-Wearing to a black tie event. There’s something so elegant about dressing up for a black tie event, so avoid experimenting here.
-Wearing colors. If you do want to add a color pop save for your purse.
I’ll be wearing a dressed up look featuring a pair of white Reebok Classics this Friday, November 27th for an event at the W Hotel: “Fete en Noir.” If you’re in DC, this event is worth checking out. The event is sponsored by Reebok and hosted by JBC Events and will benefit Miriam’s Kitchen, an organization committed to ended chronic homelessness in DC.
