One Rocks: A Rock and Roll Themed Birthday Party

Hi all,

If you or your kids are lover of music like we are, perhaps a rock & roll kids birthday party is the way to go! For my youngest, Beau’s, 1st birthday, we wanted to do something different than cars and animals, like we’ve done in the past for his brother, Ollie, so we set out to do somrthing we to8ught was cool: a rock and roll party!

Beau has shown he likes music, he likes to “dance” and will get cranky in the car if there’s no music playing. So we thought it would be a fun thing to do.

Another big difference ferom prior parties, I wanted to be more DIY, so I set out to create some of it at home.

Speaker & Stage DIY

So for the stage, I combined two ol’ wooden pallents, like the ones that your local grocery store likely receives their food in, or depending on your indudstry, you might have access to one. I asked online and two friends were able to spot me the two I needed. Then, I added a child’s crawling mat - it’s a bit heavy and rubber, so that would make sure nobody would trip or go through the spacing.

For the speakers, I actually grabbed black wrapping paper (linked below), and put pie tins to make them appear as the speakers. One roll is likely enough!

For music, we hired a local business that sends musicians to your house, Jam with Jamie, which if you’re in the Miami area, I definitely recommend. They arrived on time, with everything and were very good about taking the music where the kids wanted it to go.

So check out all the different items that we got to make this birthday party rock!

And let me know if you have any questions!
