Gingham on Gingham

Hi all,

Gingham has to be one of my favorite patterns and it's not only great for Spring but is also super in style. So for today's look, I opted not one but two gingham pieces for a fun gingham on gingham look.

For today's look I opted for the shoes and skirt to bring forth the gingham, but you could try the same color pants and top for a monochrome effect. Alternatively,  one recommendation I can give you to try out with your gingham pieces is to style like I did here - that is with two different colors and prints. Adding a third one for a gingham on gingham on gingham is not really recommended, as it might be just too much!

Gingham for Spring

As Spring arrives and the flowers begin to bloom, it's time to put away the boots. Let's forget the fact that more snow is expected in the Northeast - we can PRETEND it's warm out by wearing fun shoes, right? Maybe our positive will tells Mother Earth enough with the cold!

So today's shoes are some of my favorites right now for Spring, these Betsey Johnson pumps I got at DSW are covered in the front so they still will keep your toes warm for those colder days. But have a cute bow detailing in the back, which suggests to pair them with ankle length pants, a skirt or a dress.

For this particular look, I opted for this gorgeous gingham skirt from Boden  and simply paired it with a top and trench coat to keep the attention on these two gingham pieces.

They work nicely for work because your toes aren't exposed - as long as your job allows for slingbacks. Alongside work, they work great for a dressed up, casual look. Try pairing them with a cropped, ankle-length fitted pair of denim, a white tee or bodysuit and a blazer for a sharp, cute look.

But the beauty is that you can also take them on vacation with you, or to a semi formal Summer/Spring event. Try pairing the shoes with a white linen dress and a straw bag and finish off the look with a ribbon or a hat.

How would you style these pumps? Let me know in the comments below!

As always, thank you for reading!

xoxo,

Christie
