Let's Go Midi Skirt Shopping!

Hi all,

It's time to talk about skirts - midi skirts that is! While some may find the length to be challenging - I'm looking at us shorter girls, I'm a firm believer that midi skirts can work for anyone. I've been a big fan of midi skirts and have been writing about them for a while, so let's take a look at midi skirts in general, how to style them and then go shopping with some of my favorite skirts of the moment, including the one I'm wearing that as of writing is... a whopping $17!

Feminine Piece For All Occasions

Aside from always trying to mix high end with high street, one of my goals always is to grab a feminine piece and add a bit of edge. Midi skirts are one of those pieces that are very feminine and they're perfect at accentuating the waist. To add a little bit of edge - and in particular with fall just around the corner - try pairing your midi skirt with combat boots or a black leather jacket.

But another reason I'm a big fan of midi skirts is how versatile they are. Midi skirts are one of those pieces that can easily transition from work to happy hour, from day to night and/or from weekend brunch to errands.

For work, one of my go-to's is pairing the midi skirt with my go-to pumps of the moment and a button-down shirt for a chic, professional look. For date night, try instead going for your favorite stilettos, statement earrings, clutch and a body suit. Finally, when styling for the weekend, keep it simple: sandals or sneakers for your feet and a T up top should do the work. One styling tip I always mention to friends, and in particualr those of similar stature to mine (read: short) is to ensure the skirt hits closer to your calf, than your ankle. Otherwise you might be at risk of looking even short than you really are.

With that in mind, let's do some shopping: The skirt you see me wearing here is available HERE from Tobi and is only $17 on final sale at time of writing.

If that one doesn't quite cut it for you, see below for a few more options that I selected from some of my favorite retailers.

Thank you for reading and let me know if you do end up purchasing one and how you plan on styling it!

xoxo,

Christie
