Edgy Weekend Look Ft. a Leather Overall Dress

Hi all,

It's a rainy day in NYC as I write this, and I wanted to simply share this look from last week that I received a lot of comments and DMs on. It's an edgier look in nature and perfect for the weekend, whether that is shopping or brunch and it contains great separates that you can style many times over. So let's take a took:

The first piece that I picked was this leather dress from Storets. Now that Fall is here, and the temperatures are slowly dropping, leather is a perfect fabric to warm you up a little bit and still look chic and stylish. In NY in particular, black leather is everywhere, all the time. This leather overall dress is versatile and can be styled many different ways and can go from day to night rather easily. For this look, I wore it during the day, so I wanted a more casual top and thought this long-sleeve striped tee - also from storets - was perfect for it. The bell sleeves added something fun and different to your regular ol' tee. But if you wanted to dress it up, and make it more feminine, you could instead opt for a white lace top underneath. If it's not very cold where you live, you could just go with a regular tee as well or buttoned and styled by itself. Alternatively, if it's really cold where you are, you can layer with a turtleneck as well. The important tip to remember is to simply layer with thinner fabrics. Otherwise, you risk looking larger than you really are.

For shoes here I opted for combat heels with a low heel because I knew I was going to be walking, and these are comfortable while still having a slight heel, helping also elongate the figure and the look. If you want to dress it up for night time, you could instead go for your go-to over-the-knee boots. Adding stockings is optional if you'd rather not show skin.

If it's getting colder, then you can add a waist coat or puffer jacket rather easily. However, avoid adding more leather by way of a leather jacket.

How would you style this leather overall dress? Let me know in the comments below!

As always, thank you for reading!

xoxo,

Christie
