1 Piece 3 Ways - Ep. 9 - How to Style Lavender for Spring/Summer 2018
Excited to bring you a new episode for my 1 Piece 3 Ways series and today we're talking all about Lavender, Pantone's 2018 color of the year for Spring and Summer. We're going to take a look at three different ways of rocking lavender in three fun outfits that I think you're going to like. So without further delay, let's dive in. Remember, you can watch the video below, or scroll down and read through. All lavender items in the video and some similar will be available all the way at the bottom of this post.
Lavender in Spring/Summer
Lavender is Pantone's color for Spring and Summer in 2018. So that means, move over Millennial pink, it's time to give lavender it's due moments of sunshine. Lavender is a very beautiful, very feminine and very elegant color to add to your wardrobe and rock this year in 2018.
Lavender Shoes & Heels
The first of the three outfits really has the least amount of lavender so it's perfect for those that prefer to rock all-black looks, or stay within monochrome or neutrals in your wardrobe. Perhaps you're not a big color person, or simply not a huge fan of lavender. Well, luckily we can add lavender rather easily and subtlety: via shoes or heels! For today's episode, I'm rocking one of my favorite new shoes from DSW, this beautiful lavender pair, which is only $69 at the time of writing. I then added a great pair of linen shorts and linen top - both perfect for Miami or any warm weather vacation. But you can instead add a jumpsuit, denim, or whatever it is that you're normally wearing (the basics, neutrals that I mentioned above). The key is simply to add the lavender color via accessories, and shoes are a great and subtle option.
Lavender Blazer Coat
So let's say you're more experienced in adding color, or simply just love wearing more color than just in your shoes. Great! So this second option should be right up your alley. Here, we're actually adding a statement piece in lavender, via this gorgeous long blazer from Alice + Olivia. This will be the focal point, or the centerpiece of the outfit. You're rocking the "it" color of the season and you're doing it with force and style. But since the statement piece is going to command the eyes - and that's what you want - we want to then add complementing pieces. Here, I added a great pair of denim, a tee and my go-to fanny pack. I finished the outfit off with a white pair of booties - another must have for 2018. If you're not feeling the tee + denim, you could also go for a black or white jumpsuit or romper and keeping the other items monochrome to let the lavender shine.
All Lavender Outfit
So now let's say consider yourself the master of color. Nobody can rock colors like you can. Well, it's time then for an all-lavender look. That means you're going to be rocking this year's color from head to toe and you're going to look chic while at it. How do we style it? I love the idea of a lavender dress, this one is from Alice + Olivia as well, and style it underneath the same long coat I just mentioned. And to top it all off, we finalize the look with the lavender heels from DSW.
No matter which outfit you love the most, or which way you rock the color, be sure to do you and have fun styling. Lavender is a fun color this season and one to definitely add to your wardrobe!
Let me know below which one is your favorite: Are you an accessories-only lavender wearer? A statement piece girl? Or are you rocking lavender head to toe? I look forward to your comments!
