Pieces You Need for a Cozy Winter Look
Today’s post is all about an incredibly cozy winter look! Yes, it’s time to face the facts: it snowed in NYC for the first time this season and the temperatures are dipping. Winter is here. So let’s talk details on this cozy look and as always, don’t forget to comment below letting me know your favorite piece from the outfit!
How to create a cozy winter look?
A Cozy Coat & Turtleneck Combo
First things first: you need a great coat and one that is long preferably. With that in mind, I set out to find the perfect winter coat and found this on-trend and fuzzy beige coat. What I love most about it is that it feels like a blanket, is super warm, and can easily be dressed down or up, and thus making it a great buy. Remember: coats are an investment because you’re going to wear the piece everyday or mostly everyday for the next 6 months (can’t believe I just said that but it’s true)! While you can find coats that are cheaper than this one, make sure to try on the coat before purchasing because the last thing you’d want to do is wear a coat that didn’t keep you warm while you’re commuting to work on foot or running errands.
Since this coat did such a great job at keeping me warm, I simply paired it with a turtleneck, another winter must-have. This one is pretty affordable at just $29 so snag them up in every color before they’re gone.
Burgundy Corduroy Pants
I had two neutrals on already and wanted to add some subtle color so I grabbed burgundy corduroy pants (similar here and here). I love that corduroy is having such a moment right now so make sure to pull out any pieces you may have from your closet and if you don’t have any then stay tuned for a round up of my favorite corduroy pieces. And if you’re not sure how wearable these pants are because of the color, burgundy also looks amazing paired with black, brown and red!
Since this is a cozy look, for shoes, I grabbed a new pair of hiker boots and these are incredibly warm! I also love the plaid print on them which makes them also very much on-trend. I recently featured them on a DSW Haul for Winter Boots & Booties and spoke about them on a plaid special trend report, so do check those out as well!
The last piece to the look was a felt nude hat. I thought it added the finishing touch to the look, as it was a cute piece, helps keep your head warm, and balanced out the look!
One thing to add is that I was wearing a blanket wrapped around the coat but that was more of a styling element for the editorial, as opposed to a requirement needed for warmth.
As always, thank you for reading!
