The Suede Skirt You Need For Fall

Hi all,

Fall is finally here and that means some relief from those scorching summer days! However, while we still have warmer days with cooler nights - it can often be difficult to decide what to wear that will bring you from day to night and be ready for the weather.

For today's look, we're talking about a versatile outfit that is ready for both day and night and I will be emphasizing a suede skirt that is a must purchase as we transition into fall.

A Suede Skirt For Fall

Suede is a must for fall. It's a luxe fabric that instantly elevates any look, even if the suede is real or faux. Plus, suede is a fabric that can be worn with anything, so it makes it a win-win for Fall, or Winter or even Spring. That's right, don't be afraid to wear suede during the winter and spring too!

How To Style a Suede Mini Skirt?

So you purchased your suede skirt and are not too sure how to style it?First, a general skirt tip: if you're revealing your legs, you will want to balance the look by avoid showing anything on top - so skip out on crop tops or plunging necklines.

Off to brunch? Pair with a great basic tee, think white or grey (helps keep emphasis on skirt). Then tuck it in and add a pair of strappy sandals, mules, or ankle booties. Finish off with a black leather jacket to help keep you warm.

For Work? You can wear a mini skirt to work but it is essential that you wear with thick stockings - skip out on the sheer. Also, if the skirt is shorter than your arms when you put them against the skirt and legs - that is a general rune of thumb that the skirt is not appropriate for the work place. If it is longer, pair with a classic basic button top and add a blazer and pumps or booties.

Running errands around the city? Pair with a great pair of white sneakers and graphic tee and leather jacket and you're good to go.

For my look, I selected a colorful print. Why did I do this when I just said to select basics? Well, you know I love adding pops of colors to my looks. Feel free to do this as well if you're comfortable mixing the colors! I particularly love this top because it was part of a matching set (stay tuned for another blog post) but can also be styled as a separate in countless ways. And if you know me by now, versatility is the number one thing I think of when I shop. Back to the look though: I paired the skirt and top with a black fringe Chloe from Bag, Borrow, Or Steal and a great pair of booties.

As always, thank you for reading!

xoxo,

Christie
